@mibambino2007 Ive heard from alot of jump pilots that started jumping themselves that skydiving has helped their flying and vice versa as ram-air parachutes are inflatable gliders and you dont have an engine to save you if you screw up an approach. Although tandems are an easy introduction to what skydiving feels like, its just a trill ride. If you want to benefit from the experience its worth doing your solo course, its alot more fun too.
@goingtoeatpizza Thanks. its funny that I am a pilot but at the same time I am afraid of heights lol... but I going to over come that fear by skydiving this summer. Any suggestions or advise?
@mibambino2007 no that "falling feeling" is only a feeling of sudden accelaration. When skydiving your exiting from a fast moving aircraft so your presented with high speed air to support your body imediately, it feels like your lieing on a big jet of air and not actualy falling or dropping. If your going as a tandem some people do feel a bit nauseas as they are a passenger and not in control, generaly only under canopy. Its like how a driver in a car dosnt get car sick but the passenger can.
@StealthApple "If the same thing happened to the second parachute you pulled out it would've been real messy"
Yeah but its worth noting that main and reserve canopies are completely different. My main canopy is designed for flight performance but the trade off is that its less tollerant of line twists and can quickly get out of control whereas reserves on the other hand are designed simply as life saving devices.
@StealthApple you can technicaly land anything but a small high performance parachute diving at the ground will give as soft a landing as having no parachute at all :)
@goingtoeatpizza I see, does it occur a lot? You arent able to land when it happends? If the same thing happened to the second parachute you pulled out it would've been real messy :s
Still waiting to make my first jump myself, tendum jump somewhere in May. Can't wait :D
nice video.. I'm still a beginner and haven't had to cutaway yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time...

@goingtoeatpizza when you done your first jump, did you stomach drop like in a roller coster? Thinking about jumping this summer.

@goingtoeatpizza Ah I get it :)
Good thing you stay focussed in those situations. Bet I'd freak out. Think I can't even keep control if the chute was twisting around like that.
Ah well, first jump will be a tendum anyway so don't have to do much. Will do my own jumps later on though. Gotta wait another year :(
