in this video , you see the difference between the standard graphics drivers, and the 3dfx 'Glide' drivers,
unless your card is a 3dfx, then you pretty much have to put up with the standard drivers to run the game with.

Here you might not notice the motion blur in the distant walls are surrounds, but you certainly notice how sharp and smooth the 3dfx drivers and 2x voodoo antilasing is.
I'm sure the 'lighting' of the map is vertex shaded, as you notice a more drab coloring of the game when you disable the '3dfx' driver. Enjoy!

  • are you masturbating while playing???

  • @SANNAFABICH yeah right, like i have 3 or 4 hands... No. its the auto focus on the digital camera i was using to film this video.

  • Lol. Luke you seriously need to use fraps. I'll give you the full version when you want, Just ask me.

  • doesnt work on here, plus i can only fin trial versions

  • is there a way to play old games with a 3dfx emulator?? I had voodoo 3000 and now these games just dont fell right without 3dfx glide... I want to play again with the glide fx!!!!

  • do you have you're original voodoo 3000? if so just pop that in with drivers downloaded online, but beware, all your newer games won't want to run on a voodoo card!

i think if you have a nvidia card an emulator such as 'miniGL' is a emulator program that makes your card think its a 3dfx card, but it won't feel or look like the good 'ole days of 3dfx!

  • Are you running a AMD system when playing Quake 2 if so load in the AMD 3dnow patch the graphics is 10x better then standard open gl or 3dfx open gl modes

  • If you use nGlide, you can use the Glide option in the video menu.

  • poor autofocus =\

  • @nooblet911 yeah i have a computer with a voodoo5 in it. I own 3 voodoo5's but this is the only computer that has a agp slot in it i own. Surprisingly I got it to play Elder Scrolls : morrowind on a p3 733mhz 256 megs of ram and the voodoo 5 with playable framerates. I have a huge collection of 3dfx cards

  • well for retro pc gaming a voodoo 5 is a great choice.

  • @nooblet911 yeah but you cant forget about the AAlchemy 8464 system using 32 of the vsa-100 chips (like the voodoo 4 and 5) and it had 2 gigs of video ram. Il still trying to get my hands on one

  • 3dfx was the shit back then but voodoo 5 was it's end.

  • @1700iDiGuy you missed the part of him giving it to you....
