Yes, beautiful singing, but this version doesn't count in the competition - the aria/recit is not complete! They've mucked about with it in the middle and cut out the section "addio, addio" etc.! What a shame. I have to rate it only a 3.

Me too. I am a great Verdi lover and put his operas on the first place. Before Puccini. When it comes to drama,love, passion a.s.o. There is absolutely no one to compare with.Great performance , with so much immotion and sensibility,needed for this role.
Bravissimo!You really need a special voice (high dramatic) to sing Verdi.

Initially Aliberti was supposed to do this role with Karajan. But she quitted because of the lightness of her voice.
