How come Amy came on the Leterman show and was like a she was 16 is awesome shape and then a few days later she's on youtube space out on a video.Any big event and she is looking 100%. What I know from Iggy Pops etc is one cannot turn it on and off like that.Pop was always stoned

You'd be amazed how easy it is to clean up even the worst junkies with the right makeup. Even more amazed at how quickly and radically enough drugs can destroy mind, body and appearance. I've seen MANY clips of gigs where she looked, acted and sounded downright atrocious in every way. As a recovering addict myself -- I am certain one can easily "turn it on and off." I did it for years. Nonetheless, I understand your point and thinking.

I think she - consciously or not - wants to be the next Cobain. Dying young and tragically makes you a permanent legend....and you never have to age or slip in greatness. If Cobain, Joplin or Sid had lived...they'd have faded into oblivion eventually. Dying stops the clock.

No, I believe I got it right. So, not to be condescending (truly), but do you know that cocaine perennially tops the list of substances whose users die of toxicity? More people in the U.S.A. die by cocaine overdosage each year than by any other drugs or pharmaceuticals - though methadone has been giving it a run for its money in recent years. That does not account for those killed or maimed in coke-related misadventures and cartel border-wars, either.

Trust me. It's quite a dangerous plaything.

@ShroomBead I really disagree with the statements that cocaine doesn't get you that high and isn't that dangerous. I agree that it can be fun and that it helps people's true colors show more clearly in a way that many other drugs do not, but in my experience, the combined effects of a pile of yeyo and the days of sleep deprivation that sometimes accompany such piles can easily turn the civilized person into a depraved, savage animal. I may have misinterpreted the comment; I will read it again.

@irulehyrule2 I don't mean to be rude or condescending, but have you ever done cocaine? If you were to arrange drugs in order of how high they get you or how dangerous they are, it isn't that high on either list.
