You have a choice of weather you want the lights to flash when you put on the brakes or to just be steady yet brighter. You can change this options with the flip of a switch on the Triple Play unit itself. Some feel the flashing mode confuses folks when you use your blinker. I can see pros and cons to both. I had mine on flashing mode for quite some time and just recently changed to steady on mode.
