Michael Keaton Interview - Cinequest Film Festival 2008

After dabbling in the arena of stand up comedy, Michael Keaton found his true calling as an actor. His quirky sense of humor in Night Shift (1982), Mr. Mom (1982) and Tim Burton's horror-comedy Beetlejuice (1988) catapulted his film career. However, Keaton's encounter with Burton did not end with Beetlejuice when the eclectic director cast him as the millionaire crime-fighter in Batman.

Michael Keaton is a ridiculously underrated actor. Comedy is one of the hardest things to do on film and he pulled it off. He also proved his acting chops in films like Pacific Heights and then demonstrated he could be an action hero as well in the brilliant Tim Burton films (Christian Bale is a fine actor and a great Batman but does not register in comparison to Michael Keaton). The fact that he turned down a lot of money to be in Batman Forever speaks volumes about his integrity as an actor.

Michael Keaton is an amazing actor and i cant beleive he has never won an oscar!! he has done a lot of great roles, im glad they gave him that award though because he soooo deserves every award going, i hope he has many more movies to come yet, and not just the voice work, coz he has sooooooo much talent to share with us!!!!!!

He must be pushing 60 but he looks so young. Very watchable actor. I like him in "The Dream Team" and "The Paper"great casts in those two movies also

Brilliant underrated actor.He will always be Batman to me.I was kind of hoping he might talk about Mr. Mom or some of his underrated roles like One Good Cop and Touch And Go.
