This time its the Guiding Light.. a little tribute to the soap because it's ending its 70-plus year run this fall. A few things different about this one, but I've explained the changes in the video itself. Plus another mini-tribute- to a TV legend who just recently passed away- in the form of promo at the very end of the video. Enjoy!

Bear in mind that the end credits are not completely accurate. It took some time to actually find credits that were remotely close to the timeframe I had in mind for this video, so if you're a Level 2 soap fan or higher, please overlook the discrepancies.

  • It would be nice, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

  • Have you ever thought about working at CBS,? they can sure use you as a staff announcer.

  • You did a good job with these credits. Was this really what GL from 1968 was like? if it is, wow, you really know your stuff. Footage from those years or even picture for that matter are hard as hell to find.

I have also seen your ATWT credits and it is truly amazing! I wish you can do some more soap opera titles!

  • Nice try, except "La Lumiere," which incorporated a sub-theme titled "Rue D'Or" (that was also used as incidental music for the character of murse "Peggy Scott Dillman Fletcher Thorpe," and as mid-show "bumper" music) in the closing credits crawl, was not used as the main theme music of "The Guiding Light" until 1970, then until 1975, when replaced with "Ritournelle."

  • Superb job. and thanks for sharing.

  • you have done it again:)..thanks

  • Don't give up on yourself, man. You sound great. I'm sure CBS would love to hire you.

  • You're a great soap opera announcer! The best ever!
