28 survivors of ferry sinking named:

Twenty-eight passengers who were rescued from the ill-fated MV Princess of the Stars have been identified, authorities said Monday. Several of the survivors rescued in Mulanay, Quezon on Sunday were Rey Paquin, Danilo Deplansa, Richelle Tayuntong, Gerry Pelenor, Philip Vasquez, Ralph Alain de la Peña, Carlo Jason Aravis, Rodel Caborte, Philip Gilig, Jose Marie Garbo, Ciriaco Nuñez, Reynante Tadena, Imperio Pendun, Jonathan Pendun, Antonio Cosepp, Ruel Libot, Estanislao Terra Jr., Jessie Ray Blanco, all residents of Cebu.

The government should stop their stupid theatrics now and start really doing action about this. Sulpicio has to be shut down so they will learn to value lives and realize that running a shipping company is not just about making money but make them realize that it has added moral responsibility. If they want to keep their company alive, despite of the people they killed, its time they learn how to really manage or run a company.

ifalter - I understand the point you're trying to make. You're saying that the "damage is done", and that, they should refocus their time and energy on the survivors and the people who had lost their loved-ones in the tragedy. But, there really is nothing wrong or counter-productive with "stopping" and "inspecting" each functioning, commercial ferry boat. It's the lack of maintenance, standard, safety and protocols with our shipping lines that led us to this tragedy in the first place.

ifalter -- What's the point? The point is that so it won't happen again. How can you fix it without any real & concrete solutions? How do you propose in "fixing" things? Don't you think that if they had made an effort of spending the time and money of 'stopping and 'inspectioning' the ferry boat, they could have prevented this tragedy? Yes, I agree, wholeheartedly, that the survivors and people who lost their loved-ones should be compensated and cared for...

...But, there has to be ACCOUNTABLITY for the people involved in this tragic decision that caused the deaths and misery of many Filipinos. Otherwise, this type of negligence and lack of respect for human life in the name of profit will soon repeat itself, again and again. The loss of one life is one too many to ignore such effort, consideration and justice.

WTH. Whtas the point of stopping and inspectioning other ferrys? there's no more typhoon so they can go ahead and ship.. go wherever they want. i love my countrymen, so much that this tragedy gets me eveyrtime. but the way the country handles this tragedy, shiiiit. come'on. all they do now is blame each other. why dont they just focus on the survivors and search for the bodies of those unfortunate. im sorry but its just my opinion that the way of philippines "fixing" things is just....terrible.

i hope the gov should ban and close Sulpicio Lines operations. how many times they let their fucking old and rusty ship sank. and to all filipino if possible avoid aboarding these fucking old ships. most of their ships are very old, rusty, malfunction engines. to my relatives that were in the capsize ship Titan Condrillion, Boguy Pepito, Nancy and Balting Condrillion and to their grandchild, rest in peace. i am praying that God has pulled your souls and open His gate in His kingdom.
