@JackRussellTerrier2 The "Midwestern Grunge" style I remember was, well, look at the hairstyle of any grunge musician during that period, then throw in the obligatory "Sk8r" hairstyle of the time - after that have them bleached out and dyed any number of colors which don't naturally occur in humans.

That's the Midwestern Grunge I remember, and I went to school with a lot of kids who participated in the local music scene at the time.

@BrooklynEagle Living on the outer fringes of the Midwest during the 1992-93 period, I dont remember ever seeing that style back then. And while the jean jacket looks kind of 1980s/90s, the "Midwestern Grunge" hairstyle looks an awful lot like the way guys who can wear str8 hair have been wearing it during the the last decade. To get an idea of which hairstyles are popular at any given time, all one has to do is look through the pages of a HS yearbook from any given year.
