"The Story"
May 24th was my girl's birthday. Unfortunately, she didn't have a lot of time to celebrate because she is studying for the exam that you take after your 2nd year of med school. Birthdays are a big deal to her so she was pretty down about it. One of our favorite things to do is to go to the movies, so I told her I would take her to see a movie and to get some food as a break.
So we went to the Alamo Drafthouse in West Oaks Mall (gotta give em a shout out since they let me rent a theater). We were supposed to see Indiana Jones. However, when the movie started it was a 6 minute film highlighting some of the moments in her life (shoutout to Blind Bear Entertainment for putting the movie together). The theme was "where X happens", similar to the NBA commercials. At the end of the movie there was a clip saying "where your future home happens", and it showed a picture of my house in the background. Of course the next slide asked her to marry me.
After she said yes I told her to turn around and tell everyone else. Before the movie started both of our families snuck in the back of the theater so they could watch the proposal. She was very pleased that her family came in from Tyler to participate. Yes, I got a lot of tears. I also got good photos because my photographer was there pretending to take pics and video footage of reactions to his independent film that was "showing that day".
Please pray for our continued happiness.
