  • what engine do you have in this truck? what radiator did you use? stock or aftermarket if aftermarket what size and did you have to make any frame mods?

  • @wastelandprovince

It had a 6.5 Detroit in this video, but it has a 2005 Duramax in it now. It has an aftermarket 31x19 dual core aluminum radiator and the entire frame has been extensively modified to accept the engine, radiator and suspension and to be able to handle the extra power.

  • and I thought throwing a linked dana 60 under a silverado was a big project.....sweet ride....and the engineering is impressive. fantastic job. Will it be a show or go truck? I vote for GO......

  • @trump4me

Thanks man, it will be both actually. I'm building it to do everything well. It has 4.11 gears and 38's so it will effortlessly run 75 on the turnpike and the Duramax/Allison combo will be very efficient and VERY powerful. It has a reciever hitch out back and a gooseneck hitch in the bed for trailers. I have stacked 241 cases that help provide 94:1 gearing for rock crawling on the weekends. The air-ride helps it ride like a Caddy and support any load. It's my for everything truck.

  • thats awesome

  • @HostageKiller

That's exactly my thoughts on the color too. The truck was always white with black flares and I always intended to paint it back like that, but it has been modified so extensively and is "loud" just in what it has become so I was thinking that a loud color like Synergy Green would kinda fit it.

  • @DieselS10

Flashy for my taste but I think it would go really well with the wheels you've got on there and the whole style of the thing overall, yeah.

  • @HostageKiller

    Ha, I couldn't agree more.

Saving the paint for last though, gotta get all of the fabrication done first, but I will be starting on the body work soon. Thinking Synergy Green with Black flares and bumpers????

  • Nice, you oughta get a coat of paint on that thing.

truck, run it down the highway on long trips (sometimes loaded) and I just prefer a diesel. It had a 6.5 Detroit in it in this video, I'm just finishing up swapping in an '05 LLY Duramax/Allison combo and with this diesel (with EFI-Live) it will be capable of 22-25mpg hwy AND mid to low 11 second quarter mile runs with the turn of a knob, plus I can "detune" it so that it doesn't break itself when both transfer cases are in low range with 94:1 gearing when I'm playing in the rocks.
