Reformation Day Interview with Katie Luther (for Dialogue sermon)
By Rev. Dr. Thomas K. Johnson, Claremont, CA.
(Based on My Conversations with Martin Luther, Timothy Lull, Mpls., Augsburg, 1999)
Pastor: Today is Reformation Sunday, an opportunity to consider the life,
faith and ministry of Martin Luther. He was born in 1483 and is most
remembered for how he took a stand against the Roman Catholic Church
and wanted to see the church rediscover the power of God's Word and be
reformed by the wonderful news of God's grace. Some say Martin Luther was a hot-tempered big mouth, who always
needed to have his say. But others say he was a kind man who loved
music and was gentle in his style of persuasion and encouragement.
I guess we will never know for sure, but we can be certain that his faith and
love for God made a tremendous impact for all the ages.
