I thought the same thing at first, but it looks like he also could have been signaling something to the sound crew, considering that you cant hear the Neville solos and Bobby tends to do this alot. Who knows

Great jam. Would've liked it if someone had gotten the levels right so that we could've heard the Neville solos, though. The Dead had a tendency to do this with guests (e.g., Mick Taylor). Not sure what that was all about. I'd like to think it was a soundboard-level fuck up and not a deliberate decision. I always felt this happened between Garcia and Weir. When Weir would step up to take a solo, sometimes all you'd hear was something that sounded like a buzzing fly! I miss the GD much...

I saw an Iko Iko at Soldier Field in 1992. My 2nd show. It was great. They opened the 2nd Set with it. The crowd came alive!! Those were great days.....miss you Jerry!!
