  • May be he doesn't want to use heel-toe. The less grip between tire and track may cause tire spin and slip due to shift lock. When tire slip it's cause less wear of transmission & clutch and jerky motion is reduced. I think tarmac track that coat with thin layer of snow - cause less grip generate between tire and track - not need to rev match downshift. Except tire spin more and cause the car out of control.

  • he simply doesnt heel n toe, thats all, your imagination is way too much! =)

  • he still using left foot braking. thats something i cant do either

  • @RCC4487

they simply dont heel toe while their right foot is on brake

  • @yyjack23 Hi, i believe there is no need for HT.

4 cylinder engine have low inertia, and due to turbocharger it has lower compression and lower revs, AWD minimizes slip, rally style driving have other more important priorities rather than keeping max momentum and cutting tenths of a second, i dont think it made any difference.

If it was a high compression V8 on RWD layout i believe he would end up doing because it would actually make difference.

Thank you for sharing this video.

  • From the looks of his driving he doesn't seem to need to rev match the car before downshifting. If u look closely at when he does downshift you'll notice he's shifting at a very high pace. The clutch is only used to change down but let go of quickly enough that his engine speed doesn't decrease much. This man is very talented indeed.

  • wow.........he's such a good driver. Love the pedal cam too.

  • @intj123 I also never use heel toe, it's not ergonomic for me.

  • @Mr0KKK0 No I own an evo and I know the REAL reason why he doesn't use it. Because he doesn't need to when the syncros in the transmission are new. Up to triple syncro gears makes for buttery smooth downshifts even to first gear. When the car gets older and the syncros wear out, they do it to get smoother downshifts without breaking the car as well, it's smoother on the parts of the car.

  • @yyjack23 yes may be I was wrong. I see another Panizzi clip from youtube he didn't use heel-toe at all , even in sticky tarmac. It seem shift-lock didn't mean to him :(
