  • Great interview. 'Presence', 'helpful witness' etc., all key to good therapy, or at least to an attitude that makes therapy possible. Schneider's 'explanation' is subtle, personal and precise. Think I'm gonna read one of his books. Existential-Humanistic therapists tend to be very convincing, possibly because they're not afraid to face their own fears and pain. Their idea of 'pathology' cuts right through diagnostic criteria, leaving a lot of people in the field empty handed...
