People seem to miss the reason that both UPS and Fedex REQUIRE 2" of peanuts, bubble wrap or padding on all sides of a item being shipped. If the drivers had to provide white glove super delicate delivery they would take a lot longer and cost more to ship. I ship cabinets with Fedex Ground and the rep that calls on me said that 2 inches of padding allows packages to be dropped from waist height without damage. The boxes may show signs of wear and tear but the contents should be fine.
Fed Ex Ground, Fed Ex Home delivery,or Office are all 'independent contractors " and they get no benefits and every driver is being paid by the Stop,so it means if you're not home and i need a signature as a driver,i am not being paid for that stop.Find the justice in all that.I couldn't .I also never dropped a package but still got fired because i have received 4 customer complaints like Fed Ex driver didn't ring the bell,or driver broke the snow stick..
@Kronzlll Waterways? FOB = Freight On Board. It defines where the transfer of ownership takes place. It's a legal distinction of responsibility and ownership. It has nothing to do with a waterway.
All fedex ground delivery drivers are "independent contractors" not "employees", so they don't have any health insurance benefits, no matching 401k retirement plan, etc...Fedex treats people like crap so the driver generally doesn't give crap about your package. In the race to the bottom fedex is winning by a long shot!!
if you were dumb enough to not get shipping insurance on something that costs 7K! then you deserve this... otherwise just file a claim and they will replace it. you clearly have proof. and they wont fight it with video evidence...
