Awesomely funny! I'm married to a Norm Crosby (of sorts) all of my own, malapropisms and all!

My younger sister was quite the active thespian in college. When she was about to get married, I was going to warn her fiance about that, but I found out that he was quite the philanthropist himself.

The term was coined in reference to "Mrs. Malaprop." A character in a stageplay who made those same mispronounciations. They were later popularized in movies (by Leo Gorcey as "Slip" Mahoney, leader of the BOWERY BOYS); on television (by Carroll O'Connor as Archie Bunker); and, initially, in nightclubs, by Norm Crosby.
Example of a typical malapropism: "Most people think I'm eagle-testicle. But, I can be self-defacing when I want to be."

I once dated a woman who ate nothing but salad. That's the only time I ever went out with a veterinarian.
Whaty are malapropisms?

Notice how Norm substitutes words for similar but completely different words? Those are malapropisms. Norm built an entire comedy routine doing this.
