Week 2 - University of Malta New Parking System & KSU Debate

BREAKING NEWS:

KSU received no requests to pay for the clamping of any cars of students today. The protest went ahead as planned although parking was still a problem and cars could still be seen parked outside the lines in the student car parks.

Today chaos ensued because the Sports Ground was closed for PE training. Discussions are currently taking place between KSU and the other stakeholders to find a remedy to the situation as soon as possible. InSite TV will keep you updated.

Several students have been signing KSU's petition at a steady pace but more signatures need to be collected. An online petition was doing the rounds but this is not the official KSU petition and therefore those who signed online must also sign at the KSU office.

The SPORTS GROUND will be closed till 11am tomorrow. KSU is taking action - students can park ANYWHERE on Campus tomorrow (16th October) and KSU will be reimbursing anyone who gets clamped. A petition will also be going round so that students will be given the empty parking places that are not being used by Academic and Administrative staff.

I think that a good solution would be to make identical permits for teachers, students and staff alike and let everyone with this permit park where they like on a first come first serve basis. Like this you eliminate the visitor parking problem as these will not have this permit and would be clamped or towed. I think this 'same permit for all' system would work better than last year's method since visitors would not be able to park on campus. what do you think??????

Alla hares the lecturer dont find parking! Their area always has available spaces, no matter what time it is.

And what about students? Is there a students union allowing students to go home or to arrive late for lectures, if parking is not found?
