Ace of Base: The Sign

Euro-Pop never hit the high stride that Ace of Base hit with this monster single. Has anyone been able to match the success of this record? I think not.

The song is monumental, hands down. To say the least, The Sign is one of the most recognized songs universally.

One thing I never understood was why everyone thought the lyrics were "I saw the sun" I remember everyone always debated that. Maybe because the follow up lines were "and it opened up my eyes." Or maybe we were too young at the time and immature? Well whatever...

Regardless, I'm a huge Ace of Base fan and this was the song that introduced me to them as a whole.

I don't even need to throw up the stats with this record. You already know the impact effect on all cultures with over 1,000,000 customers and #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, Australian, Austrian, Canadian, German and the list never stops.

weird, i never knew anyone that said they thought it was sun. but then again, the tape said it right on it. so did the music video. it was also the name of the song.
