Very interesting duo of videos. As an atheist, I find your approach to your faith more sensible than that of most Christians I encounter. Personally I find too many problems with the basic Christian salvation concept, as well as more fundamental problems with a belief in a pre-existing cognitive creator god to find any god claim plausible, but I am less bothered by people believing in deities than I am with the fundamentalist, dogmatic ways these beliefs often manifest themselves.

I always wonder why atheists never rush to the end of 2nd Samuel to try to discredit the Bible. It's probably the most troubling thing in there.
I believe all of the Bible to be inspired, but I believe God has touched more than just the Bible. I like when Lewis Carroll said in his Sylvie and Bruno preface, "If Shakespeare was not inspired, one may well doubt if any man ever was." I don't even like Shakespeare, but I love Carroll.

A lot of the problems you point up are due to the separation of the Bible from the context of living tradition at the Reformation.
The Christian faith came to life in a civilised community, and drew on all possible means to transmit its message. It did not pit texts against interpretations, because it already included the "new scribes and teachers of the law" that Christ prophesied; it was a real community and still is.

@jmrut1992 Great minds think alike eh? You could always use something like the free "Any Video Converter" program to both dowload the videos and convert them to mpg files for burning to DVDs. I realize you're just talking tongue-n-cheek, but I just wanted to make it clear to others viewing any of my videos that they're always welcome to copy them. Christianity isn't Christianity if it isn't free.

Revelation is actually one of my favorite books. I think it's amazing.
Love the arguments about what motivation the Israelites had to write so many bad things about themselves. It has to give the Bible at least some credibility.
I believe Jesus is the way, and I believe he'll make everything right. I'm just not sure how he's going to do it. Maybe he'll save everybody in the universe, maybe not. Who knows. Heaven and Hell remain complete mysteries to me.

Well that's the thing we really have to hang our hats on, isn't it. The rest are mere details.
