"Rebuilding Bridges" is the story of two men, Frank Piras and Shane Hodgson, who own and operate a corporate entertainment production company, and their attempt to create a serious documentary centering on the influential PBS show, "Building Bridges." The weekly show introduced a groundbreaking debate format that involved an Israeli, Rabbi Hershel Goldstein and Amir Al-Fulani, an Arab man. The two discussed a myriad of current "hot button" topics, including politics and religion, in order to reach an understanding of each other's views. The duo's overall message of tolerance through discussion was an oasis of reconciliation during those turbulent times and even influenced world leaders and events. The show aired from 1976 to 1986 until "Building Bridges" was cancelled after a nasty lawsuit that created a rift between the two hosts to the extent that they would never speak again for 20 years.
