@soylalegion Linux may have been loosely based on ("off of" is such an odd grammatical anomaly) Minix to start with. But these days they are nothing alike. Linux is not a microkernel for starters.
Why say "based off of but developed from scratch" when you effectively mean "copy"? Is it like saying "off of" when you mean "on" or "utilise" when you mean "use"?
Yeah, pedantically Linux is a copy of a copy of UNIX, but that kinda makes it a copy of UNIX. A good one at that.

@MaxLittlemore Linux is based off of Minix, but was made from scratch. Minix is based off of BSD, but was made from scratch. Linux is UNIX compliant, but hardly a copy of UNIX.
