thats not a phantom hit,its knicking which is when you are JUST out of range and you make contact but with no effect.

thats basically a phantom hit. A phantom hit is when the hitboxes are next to each other but no touching.

XD I do that all the time with Kirby. If you are just out of reach for a nomral hit to hit the sand bag with kirby then you can hold down the A button and do that for hours.

Note i use a game cube controller.
