Numerous reports coming out of Japan suggest public school educators in Japan are hindered by left leaning administers and teacher unions.

Apparently the leftist have commandeered control of the education system in Japan as they have in the United States (USA).

The teachers is Japan discourage forms of national pride. They teach about the USA's nuclear test in the Pacific Ocean while never mentioning the Soviet nuclear testing in TSAR. The teachers glorify communist nations while berating capitalism. They teach of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, while neglecting to mention on the same date the Soviets invaded Manchukuo. Students are urged to read newspapers such as "Red Flag" (Akahata).

  • Japan is a collectivist society and you wonder why they have elements of socialistic values and teachings? Wow you are culturally ignorant.

Not every society in the world is the same as the greed fuelled, one man for himself, American capitalist society.

People like you need to stop perpetuating the concept that corrupt communist regimes like that of China or the Soviet Union and their extreme socialist values represent the same ideals as left-wing politics in the rest of the world.

  • @Osirls - You may want to show your comment to your high school and/or university indoctrinators, oops I mean teachers and professors. They would be proud of their work in you.

Want to talk about “people like you?” “People like you” is why another culture is overpowering Europe and about to turn it into the cesspool “people like you” so deserve.

May there always be an England despite “people like you.”

  • @PropagandaBuster The only person that sounds indoctrinated is you sir.

Did you even read my comment? Do you not have any criticism to make rather than just making more assumptions on the rest of the world?

Have you been to Europe? Have you seen how it works, and works well, first hand?

Why do you assume that just because somewhere is different to the US and your opinions that it is a negative thing?

You do realise that your opinion of how things should work is just one of many, right?

  • @Osirls - As is yours, "just one of many......"

  • lol. I call BS.

I've spent 3 years working in the Japan as a teacher.

Let's get some things straight. The Japanese school's are very nationalist. They are also very conservative. They never teach anything slightly controversial. They pay respect to their flag and country constantly, but mostly they teach people to pass tests in math, science, English, and Japanese. They teach nothing at all creative, and nothing political. The Japanese ALL vote for the same party, and have for 50 years.

  • I agree - Japan has a wonderful history despite what other countries say about it (korea) and I think they should be proud of thier culture and thier flag. GO JAPAN YOU ROCK USA LOVES YOU!

  • So hey dumbass, I'm Japanese, I've been through their education system and let me say that your lack of knowledge is so close-minded that it amuses me. I can safely say that an average Japanese special ed. student is more logically inclined than you. So you read 3 bullshit letters and arrive at the ignorant conclusion that Japan's educational system is communist? Okay, and I'm watching a unicorn shit a rainbow of skittles right now. Japan's education system far surpasses yours.

  • Whomever you are receiving these emails from are either stirring the pot for its own sake, or you are simply making all of this shit up. I wouldn't make such a forceful statement if I didn't ever live in Japan myself and experience not only their culture but their education system as well. I would love for you to post these emails you have from such credible sources so we could all have a good laugh. Get you facts straight before spreading such malicous and hateful speech.

  • @jonathancshupe " Japan has a wonderful history " Japan slaughtered 22 million people and enslaved a further 20 million, 200,000 of which were forced into sexual slavery during WW2. Get your facts straight.

  • at my school teachers get fired if they are communist... its a public school in the US. is that legal?

  • they allowed the germans to go over us freely, over here the books say we actually managed to delay them for a rather long period considering the difference in strength.

Now I know this has nothing to do with left or right but it is in my opinion that people aren't open minded enough these days, that might in itself be a naïve train of thought but instead of just critisising try to look at things from all perspectives.

  • @PropagandaBuster & Osiris

Probably another "indoctrinated" person here but since you both agree on the fact that they are indeed both opinions is it required to say one or the other is bad? Education anywhere in the world is to lesser or greater extent subject to governmental approval, I lived abroad for a part of my childhood and even factual data seems to be subject to that. To state an example, in the english international school they said belgium was neutral during WWs

  • NEW JERSEY ACCENT!!

  • @LeadBeIIy I am in american college... and all they pretty much do is teach chemistry , calculus, physics, eng literature, biology so that we can pass the tests........ i don't really recall professors teaching us creativity or how to be creative in our class..... creativity cannot be taught... it comes from within.. if you do some research, Japan was the most innovative country some years back... i don't know where they stand this year though... so stop spreading that Japanese are not creative

  • This video is mildly interesting, but still seems to suffer from that American tendency -- very hard to overcome -- to misunderstanding different and older cultures. So, for example, the brief tribute to "Founder's Day". It is also the day the modern Constitution was enacted, had actually been banned during the Occupation, and most importantly, had fallen into neglect for centuries before it was revived during the Meiji period. The 'empire' whose founding it celebrates is mythical.
