Hurricane Earl (1998) reached its peak intensity as a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds and a pressure of 988mb on September 3rd, 1998. Shortly before landfall near Panama City, Florida, Earl weakened to a Category 1 hurricane. Footage taken on Pensacola Beach while Earl was approximately 100 miles offshore.
