Now I am getting my masters degree...all paid in cash. In fact, I wouldn't go if I had to borrow money. NEVER GET INTO DEBT! NEVER BORROW MONEY!

Work like crazy to save up the money. Go to a school within your state. Go to a community college (it's usually just as good as an expensive school).

@visionvictory - the biggest piece to all this is why do people feel compelled to get college degrees to go and work at Macys or many other low-paying service sector jobs. sadly, no one gets it (including yourself): We can talk about individual liberty, responsibility but our economy cannot support the number of citizens we have. Your ANGER is focused on the government when your ANGER should be focused on the Jobs. I agree with you 100% on government - but Jobs is the greater topic.

ding ding ding! I tried to get through to the local college on the phone and I cant even get someone available to talk to me let alone enroll! Also, a college diploma is almost worthless to employers now because anyone can get one. And its not like college is hard, most of it is grade 9 and 10 level academic. University is still challenging but 4x as expensive too.

Wait, isn't the federal govt now in the student loan business? I thought that the latest health care reform law that was just passed included a provision whereby banks are now out of the loop, the feds are going to be the ones directly handing out student loans. How will private investors get in on the scam?
