The Turgo turbine is an impulse type turbine; water does not change pressure as it moves through the turbine blades. The water's potential energy is converted to kinetic energy with a nozzle. The high speed water jet is then directed on the turbine blades which deflect and reverse the flow. The resulting impulse spins the turbine runner, imparting energy to the turbine shaft. Water exits with very little energy. Turgo runners may have an efficiency of over 90%.

A Turgo runner looks like a Pelton runner split in half. For the same power, the Turgo runner is one half the diameter of the Pelton runner, and so twice the specific speed. The Turgo can handle a greater water flow than the Pelton because exiting water doesn't interfere with adjacent buckets.

@STRIKER520 What you are forgetting is that the magnets themselves have an enormous amount of energy that is being harvested when the generator is turning. So it does not break the laws of physics, you are just ignoring one of the energy sources. The energy required to turn the drive shaft is all that it takes to harvest the energy stored within the magnets. In addition, if you read the news, Einstein's theory of relativity may have just been faulted. So there is your physics class.

@d1v1n3ebp Someone needs to go back to science class since it breaks the laws of physics in many ways you cant create more energy then is given and that would count as perpetual motion. If that worked then a electric car could charge its own batteries to full  so there would be no reason for a car like the prius .
