Homophobia counts on your fear and shame. Don't buy into it. If we stand up together, we can live our lives with dignity and respect.
Robert Pinter spoke on June 13, 2009, at a gathering in protest of a coordinated campaign of police harassment by NYPD. The New York Police Department has allegedly been waging a systematic program targeting gay, bi-sexual, and straight men.
Mr. Pinter, 53, is one of approximately 30 men who, according to several news report investigations, were falsely arrested on questionable charges of prostitution.
Ironically, this rally is a tragic way to mark gay pride, now only just a week away....

I can think of another 300 cities across America that need a rally like this. Police often take their homophobia out on gay couples who are involved in domestic violence incidents and falsely arrest the victim to. Not only that but many times when a gay man defends himself against a hate crime the cop will tackle the gay victim, cuff them and haul them off to jail on a whole list of bogus charges. This needs to stop and people need to be more aware!
