This is the first video in the "Fly Fish Like A Karate Master" series. It is an introductory video to acquaint you with Sanchin Kata. Sanchin can be incorporated not only into your fly fishing regime, but also any activity. For details on some of the technical aspects of Sanchin, please visit the articles archived in the category "Fly Fish Like A Karate Master" on our blog, WWW.FlyFishingDojo.Wordpress.Com. You may also find additional technical information on my martial ideology blog WWW.SenseiJohn.Wordpress.Com. Thank-you & enjoy.

  • @OutofNames76: Thank-you. In reply, the origin of Sanchin, steeped in antiquity, is traced minimally back to Chinese Kung-Fu, It can also be traced back further to Pranayama of India. The kata went to Okinawa. Many masters learned the Kata & each added his own interpretation of the movements. The Goshin-Do version is from Sensei Van Lenten in honor of his Goju-Sensei, Sensei Masanobu Shinjo & Sensei Seikichi Toguchi. All versions have "validity" as long as the heart of the performer is pure.
