Peter Schiff, keynote speaker at the LP of CT Convention, tells the audience that it is a waste of resources running as a minor party. "We haven't won anything in 40 years" and "we don't have another 40 years to try." Instead, he recommends joining the Republican party while it is in shambles in order to expand the influence of the libertarian wing. We can only hope that Peter Schiff will lead by example and run for Senate in 2010 against the neocon Rob Simmons in the primary and the crook Chris Dodd in the general election.

  • Actually the Republican party was Hijacked by the Neocons,

  • itheloser is a typical example of the self-righteous, self-aggrandizing progressive personality type whose fascist political philosophy can only exist without dissent. Go back to the Huffington Post where all you guys whine back and forth at each other, blaming conservatives and libertarians for everything when the real truth is that all your failing are your own fault. You spineless pussies can't even pass a healthcare bill with both houses in congress and the presidency in your pocket.

  • @eurohim Whosit whatsit?? Who said anything about believing what any of them say??? The only Republican I've agreed with much on anything is Buddy Roamer but I disagree with him on much more.

    Assume much?

  • @JulesManson A Libertarian has never won a federal election and it has been around for 40 years. If you want something that is more likely to work of the two approaches, Peter's approach wins every time. It is a shame, but most people vote for the D or the R instead of the person.

  • @cobrompton That's sad. You'd vote for the antithesis of what you believe in because you can't vote for someone that has an R in front of their name even if they will do everything you want them to do. I guess the media's dividing of the people has worked on you.

  • Schiff is 100% right. We don't need a new party, we need to infiltrate the GOP and make it our party.

  • Libertarians are morally all democrats. They are pro-gay, pro-dope smoking, pro-adultery party, and the only thing that is different between them and the named democrats is that libertarians claim they can balance a checkbook

  • Ron Paul is the reason Obama got elected in the first place.

  • I've never heard a more ignorant piece of shit than Peter Schiff. The only thing that the libertarian infiltration of the Republican Party does is get more Democrats elected. Libertarians are extremely hypocritical when ignoring social issues, because Libertarians are always attacking traditional marriage. Peter Schiff is a self-righteous obnoxius dishonest politician, just like Obama.

  • If you can't beat them, join them

  • I'd vote for Obama before I'd vote for any Republican.

  • I agree with Peter.
