Got bored, used the audio analysis script in combination with gwen's big numbers script to make this, song is Hold Your Colour - Pendulum , avaliable on either release of the album of the same name.

it's all about cheating, it doesn't matter if it's physically accurate, as long as it looks good :P

this was rendered on a Intel Core 2 Duo: 2.2Ghz, 2GB RAM (as of October 2010, this is still my main computer) can't remember how long it took exactly, it was in 2.4x though, so the recent(ish) raytracing improvements weren't around to be used.

Cheats: low raydepth, and vector blur using nodes. (I can't remember any more, and I lost the file in a hard-drive format)
