@roosterskennel oh I see, sorry, I didn't watch to the end. Do you usually carry elk bugles with you when you are hunting deer? I've heard of using cow calls to try to "mask" noise a hunter might make, but never a bull bugle. I experimented with an antler rattle and a buck grunt a couple of times to see if they worked, but the does I was watching bolted and ran like I'd lit a firecracker! It was not yet time for the deer rut, so perhaps they just thought a randy buck arrived too early".

Very nice to see dads taking there kids out hunting, i do the same with mine. We ran into a lot of elk this year also but unfortunately i didnt get a deer.

nice vids of the elk. why did you label this "mule deer hunting" if you were calling elk?
btw, have you ever seen anyone successfully call mule deer with a grunt or rattle? i've tried, doesn't work...at least for me. maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but just doesn't work for Muleys

At the end of the video its shows the buck I shot with my daughters, and we were mule deer hunting not elk hunting. We just kept running onto elk everywhere so I filmed a few elk and a series of bugles back and forth to a herd bull.
