I tried grafting, but used a toothpick to hold the two pieces together. Not very successful!
Thanks for providing the rubberband method.
Will try it tomorrow!
A fellow cactus lover.

I don't think a little misguided sympathy for plants "made the world stand still" for centuries. I'm pretty sure that was Christianity.
-
I'm pretty sure no species of plant needs human intervention of this sort to survive.

@bevansoldiers moronic buddist crap statements like yours is what made the world stand still for centuries, lol! Why pic a fucking apple or pull an onion from the ground and chop it up?? lol! First, UNDERSTAND: this facilitate a slow growing difficult variety of cactus from easily dying in cultivation and, speed up its growth tremendously. Two GOOD THINGS. Hope you ahve a bit penis and enjoing it a lot and stop comparing it to a fucking cactus, lol!

I have no moral offense to this as plants have no nerves or receptors for feeling pain. It WAS a little creepy how sterile you were though haha.
I think this is wrong and cruel, why cut a cactus when there is nothing wrong with it???, how would you like it if somone cut have ur dick off and stuck a flower on top???,

@bevansoldiers,
there are many cacti (as the shown one) which cannot live without grafting.
If you don't like grafted plants, you should stop eating most fruits and drinking wine,
all these are archived with grafted plants!
You don't like to "hurt" plants? Come on, don't you cut you lawn??
:-D

Small seedlings grow much faster and bloom earlier when grafted. Also there are some forms without chlorophyl as the little yellow piece shown, which have to be grafted, otherwise they die.
