David Archuleta ANGELS (Remix of Best Audio + Video) Tulsa, OK

The screams subside about 40sec in :) Credit goes to bdsherlock and mamezamd for their great videos of David's BEST performance of Angels!!

One of them had a great audio of this performance, while the other one had some great closeups where you could see David totally getting into the song. So I thought it would be great to mix them together to help preserve this historic performance.

This performance shows how far David has come since AI. Joymus left this great comment over at the excellent NOTINGDAVID.ORG website:
"I have always remembered what you wrote in one of the first blog of yours I encountered - Think of Me. You remarked that David had a tendency to lay back in the safe yet beautiful part of his voice and would have probably needed a producer to push him out of his comfort zone. In my mind this may be one of the reasons he did end up second. The public, including us, only saw glimpses of this rawness on tthe night of the finale. Over the course of this tour David was forced to let go being and sounding perfect at all times which is what I felt he did too much on Idol. To me even his Star Search episodes had more emotion than some of his AI performances. In hindsight most of his performances were almost too perfectly sung. On tour David performed with cracks in his voice due to the strain and recently was actually coughing between notes even as he sang. Before the tour David may not have been caught dead singing like that on tour. He learned to let go and immerse himself completely in a song and taking insane risks. I thought with the cold he would lower some of his notes or forsake extra runs - but he went for it regardless of the cost. He sang the heck out of this Angels despite the vocal strain of touring so much so that even the background singer did a double take at the end. If you compare these performances to even his best ones on AI its as if two different individuals performed. A before touring and after touring makeover. David felt compelled to audition THIS year - was it a gut instinct on his part or simply listening to his inner voice?"
