  • Who was closing the doors? Religion?

  • @ApostateAbe dude its the catholic church...there isnt exactly a christian church too many sub-churchs lol

its a fun hit to the church...kinda hilarious the chanting of it haha

  • Sadly, it fails to take into account eastern cultures and civilizations.

  • 3:09 is my favorite part. We watched this video for my high school Humanities class today. It's gotta be one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Saul Bass must have been a really cool guy.

  • That little germ at 3:15 always cracks me up!

  • The Christian church never believed that the Earth is flat.

  • @dgwaters

Yes! My sentiments EXACTLY! I was very excited when, also about 7 months ago, I found it, after years of wondering and searching ....!

  • This is one of my favorite films! I remember when I first saw this film in grade school, then later again on videotape in high school. At the time I couldn't recall the name of it and for a very long time I tried to figure out what it was called. It wasn't until today that I found out it was called "Why Man Creates"

Bottom line: There's just something about films like this that hold a special place in my heart!

  • The entire work (Why Man Creates) won the Oscar for best animated short in the 1960's. This segment was sired on an old Smothers Brothers Variety show on the very late 1960s. The DVD has been selling from Pyramid for about $145 but I recently saw it available from Turner for less than $50.
