  • The fact that the music bed and the video aren't running together only matches the 'Mats fucked-up elegance.

  • The audio/video sync problem is not on my original .avi file, but for some reason the youtube formatting process causes it to happen after I upload it. Wish I knew how to prevent it, but glad it doesn't bother you too much.

  • God bless The Mats! Warts n' all.

In my mind they're the greatest. Regardless, most will agree that they were, are and always will be a powerfully important rock & roll band.

ps. i'm presently in a Pleased to Meet Me phase

  • Dude he was way talented.

  • @mrfiggins I saw them opening for Tom Petty at Great Woods near Boston. They were drunk, dressed in drag, and simply terrible. They had 30 minutes of stage time and chose to spend most of it shooting the shit with each other between songs.

I drove 50 miles with a carload of friends to see them. I went home pissed off and disappointed.

  • @drewtotally Yeah, those last two studio albums (Don't Tell a Soul, All Shook Down) were just awful. They were nothing more than warmups for Paul Westerberg's short-lived solo career.

  • poor bob. fucker died. he can be proud of this.

  • @foshaytower2 as per doug "fucked elegance". the best kind

  • Big hair, Hell Yeah!!! sorry bobby, u rock harder than a cialis od anyhow

  • the goddamn best rock band ever

  • bob never looked like a weenie!

  • @808pb you must be talking about the later ones because even with whatever studio tricks they do it stil sounds sloppy and sparse. to me its not overdubs its just that some of thealbums sound more dated than others.. i can't listen to don't tell a soul mostly because of the sound itself not the songs

  • @boomboxlamf The 4th show in Grant Park was one of the most bittersweet days...I had an awesome time, but ya know...still sucked. The Aragon show was phenomenal. One of the best shows ever once we shoved our seats over along the side. The first time they opened for Tom Petty in '89 maybe. It was at that outdoor place up north of the city...Poplar Creek or something. Awful. Nobody except for about 50 people knew who they were...and they knew it and played shitty and got the hell outta there.

  • @tikal302000 I was at those three as well. The 4th show in Grant Park was one of the most bittersweet days...I had an awesome time, but ya know...still sucked. The Aragon show was phenomenal. One of the best shows ever once we shoved our seats over along the side.
