Westwood BC Historic class motorcycle racing, part 1/6

Part 1 of 6 clips up.
I could only hope to video something this important, hard to bear closing a Independant Canadian mountain style racing track. A little "glitchy" but so were the 80's :o) hats off to the cameraman if you know the kind of video equipment that was available in the 80's. I was still using a '77 BetaMax1 to make Mr. Bill videos! the camera was a light 26lbs!
Thanks to the maker of this very Historic video Brian Milthorp, this is the last bout of racing at the world class West wood raceway. A great documentary look at the end of a 30+ year stretch of motorcycle racing independance and fortitude much of what is needed to keep these great bikes going if you chose to ride one. Great Canuck and International racers such as Murray Neibel, John McDougal, Dave Wildman, Vic Hudson, Phil Roney, John Collett, Geoff Duke make appearances!

Wish I was old enough to be there... My dad tells me stories about all the races he watched there. One of my uncles used to race a '73 S2a 350 Kawasaki there. At least we still have Mission, but I would have loved to drive Westwood.

Exactly, the track was there long before the people...never possible to duplicate Westwood,Murray Neibel, your words speak loud and clear it should have been left alone...its a lost community and amazing race days..It was a classic and a unique track..My h. used to run his Ducati's there..and Keith Hart of Grimsby Ont, taught him how to keep the Ducati's in top shape before moving to BC......history gone.....sad loss forever....Glad to have lived to enjoy the good times and awesome races. :)

my dad raced here when i was a kid. went to watch the bikes right until the end. happiest days of my life. so sad it's gone.

When I was 15 (1985), I went and watched Pete Baljet race SCCA. I saw a Suzuki GSXR750 win the same day, and since I had such fond memories, I now own the same bike. I will never forget.
