Comparing my two inertial stabilizers and handheld footage. As you can see, model "M" (which has an almost-3 DoF joint to remove twists and turns) gives the most stable result. It does suffer from a little "swinginess" due to it being slightly bottom-heavy. The precision in the design is not good enough to allow for perfect balancing.
Looks good. I've been trying to decide which DIY stabilizer to make. What is the "M" stabilizer?

@HoggetBlanker The "M" stabilizer looks like a capital letter E, turned 90deg CW. The camera is mounted on top, and the left- and rightmost vertical rods are weighted at the bottom to counteract the camera's mass. The central vertical rod comes to a sharp point at the end, which rests in a depression on the top of the handle (a 15cm plastic rod). This acts as the joint that enables the handle to twist and turn without affecting the rest of the rig.
I hope you could make some sense out of this.
