  • I used it for a ice-breaker to introduction to design to students' in Grade 7, I found very useful. Thanks David Ngo. If there could more creative and hilarious' video's as such would be useful.

  • @craigdavidsg That's great Craig! Glad it could serve some use for your students.

  • Change your video title to "Product Design Session 01", because you only touched on product/industrial design, and not the many other design disciplines.

  • good point.

  • i used this video to introduce first year students to design earlier this year. great ice-breaker! Encore!

  • @craigdavidsg my teacher had to show me this video im in year 7

  • i think the situation is still better for product designers where there is a tangible form to show as designed. But for Software UX designers, even the developer ask, why is a designer required to tell them where to put a button(as they understand the designer role)

  • What do you do? Design. And What does that really mean...? Well, It's always hard to explain.

  • cool vid.. There are some that argue that design the term is a process (or a set of aspects). It appears you have done this, although your model is somewhat different from the design process that I've studied. However some view design as the end result (eg a set of instructions and sketches) that make up a product or service. What is your view about that? Do you feel it design is the process that leads to the final results or is it the set of conceptual/drawing instructions that is the design?

  • Design is about intelligence. Intelligence brings beauty.

    Client Context + Designer's Desire / Fetish/ Imagination + Design Idea + Critic of the NORM + Team Process + Production Capability + Revisions + Manufacturer's Input + On-site decisions = DESIGN

In architecture, the battle of form and function is over. There are performance-based forms that are not based on form for form's sake.

  • Process is the key. So true!
