I just got cipralex from my doctor. Im on my 5th day now. I feel like a zombie.. Im 17 and my doctor gave me 20mg. is this normal?

@ucantkillme4real damn 20mg is the highest dose...if its making u feel that bad, break the tablet in half and take half

@tobco79 well like i said my friend...there a several types of anti depressants which have different side effects, some people are lucky and dont experiance any side effects of any kind. Are you taking meds for your panic attacks?

I've been taking 10 mg of escitalopram for 5 weeks now for anxiety (and depression). They seem to work well for me, only side effects is somewhat drowsy/tired (but not much) and it takes longer to reach an orgasm, but the orgasm is still pretty good (I'm a girl). The positive effects are unexpected. I feel more like myself when I was happy in the past, I can focus more on tasks, things have meaning, and the anxiety is almost gone. The cloud has lifted. But don't use ssri if you don't need it!

lexapro is the best ssri in my opinion its way better than prozac

@maddykate17x - 5-HTP... also, you have to lower the dosage if you want to quit: say start by taking 10mg, insteed of 20,then take 5mg and so on -- you cant just stop

I have been on this since i was 15.. im nearly 19.. i hate it. I'm on 20mg and if i forget to take it for a couple of days i feel so angry and suicidal and turn into a mega bitch. I always have a slight headache and feel tired. Its so annoying! :( I only feel like myself two thirds of the tim!

I think i want to get off it, but I cant afford the mood swings at work or with my partner/friends/family :( any ideas??

DONT TAKE THIS DRUG it fucks you up its a deception it wont help you, it will make you feel better like any other street drug but in the end the side effects will out way the false feel good factor. There no such thing as an in-balance in the brain, the phychastrist dont even know how the drugs work or how to measure this so called chemical in-balance, they call life's ups & downs a chemical in-balance theat needs treatment. All most people need to do is try harder to live & be happy.

10mg of Cipralex IS way strong. I'm on my second day and I already feel fucking wired. I have serious muscle tension, especially in my jaw. My palms are sweaty, I have absolutely no appetite, feel nauseous and because of all the tension in my jaw/neck, I have a headache. I felt these side effects literally a couple of hours after taking my first pill yesterday. It's mad, really hope these side effects wear off asap!

Ive used cipralex the past 2 years, cause of Agoraphobia, which is somewhat similar to social anxiety. I was gived a 10mg dose, when I started, and it was working so good, that I've been using the same dose til this year. My doctor told me to take 1 each day, but earlier this year, I started taking one every second, day. I've been very dizzy the past months, and I'm almost sure thats the reason. So stick to your doctors advice. And listen to dubstep

dont take them. They dont agree with me. Came off due to headaches. Doctor told me take them again. So i did on 20mg had a panic attack. Had one today. felt nauseous and not well. Then i my heart started racing again. nearly blacked out .didnt know what was happening to me. Then i threw up 3 times. Not taking them again. Ill say that to the doctors. Ill take headaches over vomiting.
