This video shows the latest version ( as of April 2010 ) of the game client/engine, and features the seamless planetary engine, a ring with asteroids, a space station, basic navigation/camera/controls and a few effects. The game is still heavily a work in progress.

  • Anyone wanted Spore to be a bit like this ?

  • I would just like to say, that this game raises so many hopes for me. Hopes that perhaps one day, our world will not be the only one we can explore. There are many wonders of our world, and to see the procedurally generated terrain like this... it just inspires me. Thank you for providing me with this experience. To think that this game has so little features compared to what the final product will be? Id buy the game like this!

  • maaaan , we need game engines like these !! mass effect series + this = the most epic game ever !! and i say EVER !!!

  • This + Minecraft = PROFIT

  • @bloodanddirt

    - lol

  • @MasterHypnose thats what I was going to say.

  • @MasterHypnose I know orbiter and I like it, but I also like the the space-sims that are not that totally realistic. But as I said I need them to a continuity, it's good for immersion if they have an explanation for the things that happen however fictious that explanation is. So there is no logical hole in the universe.

  • @Ranger10700

    - yeah... might need to stop religions from destroying science class first :(

  • @MasterHypnose I completely agree to an extent. My point is, I don't care if it takes thousands of years (which estimates show it should only take a 400 - 800yrs. As long as humanity can behold the wonders of this infinite universe that we know so little about.

  • @LupusAries

    - Orbiter...

  • @guitarguy123212

    - you really need to learn to relax, the music isn't annoying... you just don't know how to relax. If you relax while listening to it, it will change from annoying, to calming...

  • There needs to be a U.N. of game developers that bring groups of game companies together once every 5 years to mix their most innovative game engines, like this plus mass effect plus etc...
