A Shoggy Sandwich is a construction made specifically to reduce pump-noise. Most pumps used in watercooling systems produce a significant amount of vibration and this causes noise when the vibration is passed on to the case where the pump is placed. The Shoggy Sandwich is a method for installing the pump in a case and almost completely eliminating vibration noise. How it works and by how much it reduces noise is demonstrated in this video.
