@Fania54 She loves, him, has all her life, but they have never quite got it together. She thinks that love should hurt, for it to seem real, a lot of bad experiences has taught her that. But he patiently waits for her to pull herself together, in the end he cant stand what she is doing to herself any more. She sees the man in the boy she grew up with and realises the truth of love.

@mrjeffvernon Not so sure. She thinks he is a nice guy but she's just not attracted to him, no matter how hard he tries. She has other issues, and doesn't want to hurt his feelings. It ain't happenin'. I think he's pretty close to figuring that out.
