Vallejo ( pronounced Vaya-oh) is a beautiful area rich in California History and Wildlife- We are surrounded by Hiking Trails, Biking, Waterfronts, Ridge Hikes, Bridge Bike Rides, and now this new hiking trail on the western edge of Mare Island just opened. No bikes or dogs are allowed out here... its a retreat back into time, where the edge of the island has been untouched for thousands of years. Views of San Pablo Bay, and right on the edge of the San Pablo Bay Wildlife Preserve brings one great peace being so close to Nature. Let the rest of the Bay Area say what it wants about our little city, we love it here! Thankgod the Navy has left, now we can restore this area to its natural beauty.
