Mish Mush (Apricots) Preview

A short film by Syrian-Canadian filmmaker Amar Chebib made in participation with the Canada Council for the Arts. The film premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival in December 2010, was nominated for a Muhr Award for excellence in Arab Cinema, and has been on the international film festival circuit since.

Synopsis:
Upon being drafted for military service, Ahmad, a determined young Syrian poet, decides to flee the country. Consequently, he is forced up against his conservative family, reluctant lover, and must negotiate his way through the labyrinthine bureaucracy of Damascus. En route to Lebanon, he discovers himself in an unexpected place, an apricot orchard.
