Remember it's the fans who make this game possible. So when you attack them publicly it's like you're attacking the fuel that makes the NFL run. Winston is aloud to have his opinions and to speak his mind. But when you attack the people who make the game and your extravagant life possible, you come off as a dissociating fatuous man. I love football and it's an honor to play it as a profession. So it's also important to remember who makes that dream possible..... The fans!!:)

Being a fan of the game doesn't make you a savage. Just because they, according to you, "pay him," it doesn't render the action of "respect" obsolete. Winston is a lot closer to Cassel than you are, and he obviously felt the need to defend him. You have to remember, NFL players are people too, and should be respected as much as everyone else.

I apologize for the long comment but after seeing Winston attacking the people who pay him millions... I felt the need to say something. He makes more money in a year than most people will EVER see in their lifetime. Even when he fails to do his job, like protect the QB, he still gets a check from the people he bashes. It's a blessing to play in the NFL and without the fans support/money the NFL would not be able to pay this guy's bloated salary. It shocks me how arrogant some players can be.

Winston then just jumps to the conclusion when the fans cheered its because of Cassel getting hurt. When in fact it was the fans reacting to Brady Quinn going into the game. There is a reason Winston has been released by 2 teams in 2 years. He is the type of guy who causes controversy when it is not needed. The fact that he attacked the fans shows the inability to realize you don't bite the hand that feeds you. The Chiefs were already having a horrible season and Winston just made it worse.

I think any fan would cheer if there was a change made that could inspire hope. Brady Quinn going in was a cheer for hope not a cheer because Cassel was hurt. Then Winston attacks the fans who pay HIM MILLIONS of dollars because the fans cheered when Brady Quinn was stepping into the game. I'm sure Winston was just distracted because he was thinking, "Oh man I missed ANOTHER block that caused my QB to go down!".

What does Eric Winston know about hard economic times? He gets paid millions to protect his QB, but on both the Texans and Chiefs he has miss blocks that have caused his QB to miss the rest of the season. Then Eric Winston attacks the fans because he cant do his job? The fans were cheering because the Chiefs had not even held a lead until half way through the season. Then Cassel goes down because Winston failed to do his job and the fans cheered when the JumboTron showed Brady Quinn warming up.
