Lightweight floor toppings can be made using water, sand, cement and a foam made of fine air bubbles. Easy to make and almost self-leveling, this material has a high R value (low thermal conductivity), great fire ratings, and excellent sound rating (both STC and impact resistance ratings).
Not to mention, the low weight - 700kg/ m3 (1/3 of mortar) - can reduce a buildings weight enough to impact the foundations design/ provide additional safety.
Visit "phoenixsds.com" for more information about our foam and our technology.

  • oh my god too much water. fail

  • Thank you for your comment. However, the flow you see is due to the high amount of air in the mix - not water. For lightweight concrete you first make a mortar and it is here that the water content is controlled. Once the mortar passes QC, then air bubbles are added (in the form of a foam). Since the air bubbles are round - they act like ball bearings - making the lightweight concrete mix almost self leveling.

  • @nicholowachuk I am not familar with Maxxon but from the info on the Maxxon website lightweight concrete (LWC) looks like LWC has better properties (lower weight per m2/ m3, better insulation [sound, both impact and transmission, and heat]) but LWC's strength is a bit lower. But, if you are going to have a floor covering you do not need the higher strength. Can you send me some cost info on Maxxon? (send to: scott@k-block.com)

  • verry intrested ... use maxxon (gypcrete and cementisous) product every day but thinking this is cheeper

  • KBlockLWC Can you tell me what the products called.......?

    Cheers
