@DumpsterDiversX2: What you seek is impossible to find, in this particular case. As I said before, when it comes to interpretations and distinguishing the literal & metaphorical, there is no way of truly knowing. There can only be opinions, and nothing more.

@xPurpleRayne That's the purpose of the search for truth, to separate it from the falsehood. How am I to know which is the wrong or right way if I don't seek knowledge and understanding either through books or personal experience?

@DumpsterDiversX2: Who are we to say what is literal and what is metaphorical, or what is the "wrong" or "right" way of interpreting it? No one alive today has the right to make that distinction, because we weren't the writers.

I personally believe in a creator god as I am practicing Sufi Muslim. However, one thing we're taught is to learn the exoteric and esoteric meanings of the Quran and part of that process is knowing what is meant to be taken literally and what is metaphorical. The Bible...unfortunately has been tampered with and even the parts that I do feel are true have been interpreted very wrong or TOO literally where it doesn't make sense.
