The Collie Adventure Race is an individual and team event run every October by the Collie Rotary Club. Set in the picturesque Collie River Valley of south-western Western Australia and just two hours drive from Perth, the event comprises five or six stages which are: road bike 27km, horse (optional) 15km, canoe 10km, swim 1km, mountain bike 25km and a run of 10km, for a total of 88km. The race starts and finishes in Collie, simplifying support logistics for competitors, who include young and old, and those looking for serious competition or just a fun day out (which is hard to avoid anyway).
Since this video was made Mainpeak have gone their own way and withdrawn sponsorship. The race continues to be held although the course has been altered so that all legs are now "out and back" from Minninup Pool, just out of town.
