Will we have to give up the cars we love so much? No, this is America, says Van Jones, President Obama's green jobs advisor, who talks with Frank Sesno about the new overall 35.5 mile per gallon target for cars and light trucks in what will be the first-ever federal regulation of greenhouse gases from vehicles.

Cars will, says Van Jones, be made of lighter materials and will therefore be more energy-efficient. He predicts the new technological climate will be good for the domestic auto industry, as U.S. engineers tackle the challenge of making greener cars.

  • Van Jones belonged to a San Francisco Bay area group that considered Mao Zedong a spiritual leader. Mao murdered more innocent people (including children) than Hitler. Van Jones is sick!
